Just for Moms
A new venture has just launched called Modern Mom. Initially focused on Loudoun County, Modern Mom includes a full featured social media web portal complete with "Blogs Du Jour" and a new quarterly magazine. The founder, Hulya Aksu, is hoping to attract upwards of 20,000 moms from across the county. From the Loudoun Times Mirror, October 23rd:
Modern Mom Magazine debuts in Loudoun
Every issue of the glossy quarterly magazine will feature a Loudoun mom, articles on local businesses -- everything from toy stores to spas -- and provide information about family-friendly events in the area. The Web site will provide more content and opportunity for online interaction.

Modern Mom Magazine
Modern Mom Magazine is born out of an ordinary mom’s basic need to feel connected to her community. Hulya Aksu, the founder of Modern Mom Magazine, felt disconnected and out of touch after having her children. “You feel like you have been living in a cocoon after a few years and a new baby later”. After speaking to her peers, she found she was not alone and it was not a new mom phenomenon. Women of all walks of life were looking for a publication that put their community into focus for them. "Taking everything I have learned in my life, every experience I have gained, every capability I have in my possession, I have created Modern Mom. Here everyone, from community to businesses will feel a sense of involvement and the precious two way dialogue".
