A short 3.5 miles north on Route 15 from Leesburg, Va., you'll find Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club, a spectacular course with all the marks of what makes for an exceptional round of golf. As you encounter our rambling streams, bunkers, stone walls and spectacular rolling terrain you're almost going to you feel that you've traveled across the Atlantic to play golf in the British Isles. And yet you're in Virginia's horse country with vistas of the Catoctin Mountains in the background.
"This site was made for a golf course," says Gary Player, the designer of this beautiful layout. And Player truly succeeded here in using the natural features of the land -- the hills and knolls, the native hardwoods, the indigenous rock outcroppings and the spectacular vistas -- to create one of Virginia's finest courses.
Golden strands of heather line the fairways adding to the feel of being on the hallowed links courses of the British Isles. One piece of advice you might receive in the pro shop is to avoid the Scottish style stacked-sod bunkers, inspired by the great links courses of golfing's past.
Ours is a public course that has the gracious service and well-maintained fairways that you'll experience at the finest private clubs. And we hold the distinction of being Virginia's only Gary Player Signature Design.
